Breaking News: Missing US Woman Found Deceased in Boyfriend’s Fridge
On Sunday, a US woman who had been missing since June was discovered inside her boyfriend’s refrigerator, wrapped in plastic. The New York Post reports that Heather Schwab, 35, went missing and that her estranged mother reported her to the police, claiming that Ms. Schwab’s drug abuse and other issues were the reason she hadn’t spoken to her daughter in a year. She added that she was afraid 42-year-old Chad Stevens, her daughter’s boyfriend, would abuse her and possibly murder her.
Sadly, the mother’s worries came true on November 6 when McKinney, Texas, police searched Mr. Stevens’ home and discovered a horrifying scene inside. The Post, citing a police report, stated that sheetrock had been used to wall off Mr Stevens’ kitchen entrance from the rest of the house. Ms. Schwab’s body was discovered by the police stuffed inside the refrigerator and covered in “a lot of plastic wrap” after they broke through the makeshift wall.
The manner of the 35-year-old’s death is unknown. But when her body was discovered, Mr Stevens admitted to the police that she had passed away in late July and that he had put her in the refrigerator because he had run out of options.
According to The Mirror, Mr Stevens told investigators various versions of what transpired. He reported to the police in June that he was unaware of Ms. Schwad’s whereabouts when she left him. However, he recently asserted that the 35-year-old passed away three days after hitting her head and falling in the shower. Additionally, he told his neighbours an entirely different tale, saying the woman passed away from cancer.

Charges of tampering with evidence have been brought against Mr Stevens thus far, but more charges are anticipated.
According to The Post, Mr Stevens has a lengthy criminal past that includes convictions for drug offenses, theft, and assault. Police were reportedly called to his home in 2022 in response to a tip about a domestic violence incident involving a man who was screaming and a woman brandishing a gun. The couple in question is who the police think it was.
Additionally, earlier this year, after his daughter told him about her pregnancy, Mr. Stevens is said to have threatened to kill both her and the unborn child. The daughter told the police about the incident during their interview. She added that her father believed he would only get five years in prison after researching the consequences of concealing a body.
When Ms. Schwab’s daughter’s ex-husband got in touch with her, she told her that Mr. Stevens had killed her and buried her in the backyard, that’s how she found out about her daughter’s passing.
